I downloaded Libx. Fun to play around with once I got it working. Might be useful at Reference Desks if not there already.

Jing - I just finished this module and I can see where it might be useful when handling an IM and the person on the other end writes "I don't understand" or "I can't find it or see it on the home page" I like the arrow

How many places do we want people to search for information about the Library? Flickr? Blogs? FaceBook? Web site? etc., etc., etc. Can these all be connected? When I googled "Pollak Libray" I came up with 248,000 hits! It is all more than a little overwhelming, and I know (or think I know what I am looking for) Now on to Flickr, it might be useful if the pictures on our website had some explanation. We know what they illustrate, but those who don't might think we are a remarkably messy library, or perhaps, a victim of vandalism. The pictures are interesting for those in the know. Advertising that we are prone to earthquakes is interesting, but not necessarily instructive, unless you want to illustrate what to do in the event of an earthquake. How about some more constructive, or unique pictures? Afterall, a library is a library is a library.

I have signed up for RSS feeds to 2 FDLP related sites. Now that so much of the information related to being a depository library is electronic, it is constantly being updated. This is particularly so with the FDLP Handbook which governs/directs the depository program and therefore the actions/responsibilities of depository libraries. Hopefully, this will keep me keep abreast of changes or proposals for changes concerning FDLP policies and practices.

Thing 2

Library 2.0 ???
Do you mean Web 2.0?
This is one of the reasons why it is so confusing. A lot of information is left out. Managed to get this far with the help of a friend. Who knew you had to establish a g-mail account? etc. My hour is well past!
